Principal Accountabilities
- Prepares clinical and progress notes
- Coordinates services
- Works as liaison between treating physician and other personnel regarding changes in the client’s condition and family members
- Counsels the clients and family in meeting nursing and related needs
- Participates in in‑service programs and supervises and teaches other nursing personnel
Specific Responsibilities
- Monitors and records vital signs and reports abnormal values to treating physicians
- Administers prescribed medications
- Monitors intravenous infusions and parenteral therapies
- Cares for clients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy, and colostomy
- Cares for clients with pacemaker, peritoneal dialysis, and clients on ventilator
- Provides nursing care to clients with hemiplegia, paraplegia, Bell’s palsy, cerebral palsy, terminally ill, elderly, etc.
- Handles newborns, pre‑ and post‑partum mothers
- Cares for clients with physical challenges and those needing special care at home or educational facility
- Performs simple exercises, assists ambulation, and accompanies clients to social gatherings, hospitals, other treatment facilities, and outdoors
- Treats wounds and prevents exacerbation of pressure ulcers
- Reports and records medical events, procedures, and other medical parameters
- Maintains records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems to report and discuss observations with a supervisor, case manager, or medical doctor
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in home country.
Certifications and Licensure
- Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employment
- Eligible for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing
- Basic Life Support training
- Critical care qualification
- Pediatric qualification (for pediatrics RN)
- ACLS (for adult patients)
- PALS (for pediatric patients)
Experience
2 to 5 years working experience as RN
