Job summary

Etihad Airways, the World’s Leading Airline, invites a Regional Manager to lead and direct defined global airports at a regional level from its Abu Dhabi base. You will drive safety, service standards and financial performance while directing the airport workforce and coordinating with stakeholders across multiple airports.

The role requires a degree and extensive airline or GHA experience (10+ years, with 5+ in airport management) and values international experience.

Qualifications

• Degree level education required.
• Minimum 10 years airline and/or GHA experience, including 5 years in an Airport Management capacity or Airports head office management role.
• Previous international assignment would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive and direct the defined regional airport operations to achieve safety, security, quality and operational targets.
• Provide leadership and direction to airport workforce, ensuring staff development and succession planning.
• Manage budgets and financial plans, optimise resources and oversee service provider performance.
• Coordinate station start-ups, changes in terminals and flight schedules while upholding Etihad Airways’ guest experience standards.
• Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all airports in the region.

As a Regional Manager, you will lead, plan and direct the defined global airports at a regional level, ensuring airport operations are conducted in a safe, secure and compliant manner, achieving financial, quality, operational, customer service and workforce development objectives.

Accountabilities

• Driving delivery of the highest customer service standards across the region’s airports to ensure the best possible guest experience throughout the airport journey by the development of sustainable strategic plans for delivering world class airport operations within the defined region.
• Achievement against strategic standards and targets to meet safety, security, quality and operational objectives for the regional operation, ensuring consistency, sustainability and excellence in their delivery across the assigned region.
• Maintaining regional level management oversight of area and airport performance, including outsourced functions, to ensure implementation and performance against all applicable targets and objectives, including but not limited to documented requirements specified in Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and achievement against associated objectives – acting as a point of escalation and direction in relation to performance against defined targets and objectives, where required.
• Delivery against the region’s short and long-term financial and budget plans. Responsible for the efficient management of the workforce, ensuring optimum utilisation of resource management across the defined area.
• Planning and directing of station start-ups, service provider changes, terminal changes and flight schedule changes in the area, to deliver the expected Etihad Airways guest experience standards and to meet approved business plans without compromising safety, security or operational integrity.
• Assignment of the necessary resources and facilities, workspace, equipment, supporting services and working environment for each airport to support the nature and scale of operations, including an appropriate level of management and non-management personnel, to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and all applicable safety and security standards and requirements.
• Through a network of Area and Airport Managers, establishing and maintaining sound professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all airports in the defined region, including partner airlines, local authorities and ground handling service providers.
• Strong direction and leadership of the airport workforce in the defined region, ensuring delivery on staff development and performance objectives, mentoring, performance management and succession planning.
• Leading the defined airport areas and driving employee engagement, a high-performance culture that gives emphasis to leadership, empowerment, communication, quality, productivity and goal attainment.
• Driving best practices to improve and enhance operations through ongoing identification and management of non-compliance or areas of improvement across safety, security, quality and operations.
