Job summary

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Engineering team. Based at the hotel, you will operate, maintain and repair refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems to ensure peak performance and guest comfort.

You will work under the Refrigeration Engineer, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting faults, and supporting special projects within a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in operation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms and related equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain all refrigeration equipment within the hotel, including walk‑in cold rooms and freezer rooms.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service of electrical control systems for refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out timely repairs to ensure optimal operating efficiency.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, within service standards.
• Keep plant rooms and workshops clean, safe and organized.
• Collaborate with other departments to support events and guest experiences.

About the job

Based at the Emirates palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Engineering Department, The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment throughout the hotel, in accordance with Emirates Palace standards, to ensure optimum operating efficiency at all times. The Refrigeration Technician reports to the Refrigeration Engineer.

As a Refrigeration Technician, you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:

• Repair and maintenance of all types of refrigeration equipment such as walk in cold-room and freezer rooms and other commercial/industrial refrigeration equipment


• Carries out preventive refrigeration and routine maintenance. Attends to repairs and maintenance of refrigeration equipment electrical control system


• Responds to a guest’s maintenance request within 15 minutes of receipt of the same


• Ensure that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair. Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guestroom or public areas


• Ensure that the plant rooms, workshops and related areas are kept clean and tidy


• Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others


• Performs related duties and special projects assigned


• Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.

As a Refrigeration Technician, weexpectfrom you:
