Job summary

Sofitel Dubai The Palm in Dubai is seeking a friendly Recreation Attendant to deliver warm, personalized service to guests using the pool and wellness facilities.

You will assist with towels, cabanas, and chaise lounges, maintain cleanliness, and upsell wellness offerings in a fast-paced luxury setting.

The role requires at least one year of recreation experience, exceptional customer service, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a recreation attendant.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of recreational equipment and facilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
• Be available to carry out any assignment as delegated by department manager.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with guests and assist in all guests’ needs, including towels, chaise lounge covers, and cabana setup.
• Pickup and remove used towels and debris from pool deck areas.
• Provide unique experiences with warm, personal and detailed service in a luxury, fast-paced environment.
• Ensure a positive first impression of the pool through cleanliness, setup and ambiance control.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness and recreation services, activities, amenities and hotel services.
• Upsell and promote wellness and recreation offers to maximize revenue.
• Perform opening/closing duties and prepare the pool per standards.
• Be versed in hotel fire and life safety/emergency procedures.
• Maintain high personal appearance and hygiene standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

As a Recreation Attendant you are responsible to provide warm, engaging and authentically local personalized service to all guests who utilize the facilities.

What you will be doing:

• Actively engage with guests and assist in all guests’ needs, which may include, but are not limited to: issuing towels, issuing chaise lounge covers, assist in chaise lounge set-up, and cabana set-up.
• Pick up and remove used towels and debris from the pool deck areas throughout the day.
• Provide unique experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal & detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast paced environment.
• Ensure a positive first impression of the pool for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all wellness & recreation services, activities, amenities and hotel services/features.
• Up-sell and promote wellness & recreation offers at every available opportunity in order to maximize sales revenue.
• Perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set the pool according to standards and procedures.
• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.
