About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, within the Purchasing department, the Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting with receiving and verifying food and beverage deliveries, supporting storeroom maintenance, and ensuring timely stock distribution to departments. The Receiving Clerk reports to the Cost Controller.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, classifying, storing, distributing, and taking inventory of food, beverage, materials, and equipment, with accurate documentation and condition upon receipt.
  • Maintaining and updating perpetual inventories, preparing stock replacement requisitions, and processing supplier invoices in the purchasing system.
  • Developing and implementing stock handling, storage, and rotation procedures, while protecting items from spoilage or deterioration.
  • Supervising and assisting with loading, unloading, packing, counting, and transporting materials using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in storage areas, keeping detailed records, supporting departmental reporting, and expediting outstanding orders.
  • Recommending stock level adjustments, resolving issues related to space and distribution, ensuring HACCP compliance, and assisting in various purchasing and distribution tasks as assigned.

Candidate requirements:

  • Senior School qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a 5-star hotel environment (in stores / receiving sections)
  • Knowledge of Purchasing System
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • UAE Driving License preferred
