Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group invites Expressions of Interest for a Signalling Design Expert to support major rail and transportation infrastructure projects in the United Arab Emirates. You will lead the design, development, and integration of railway signalling systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation of modern networks.

The role requires knowledge of CBTC, ETCS, Interlocking, ATP, ATO, ATS and RAMS, with extensive experience on Metro, Mainline, HSR, LRT or APM projects, collaborating across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Communications, Control Systems, Computer or Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of railway signalling design experience (Metro/Mainline/HSR/LRT/APM).
• Knowledge of CBTC, ETCS, Interlocking, ATP, ATO, ATS and wayside signalling principles.
• Experience preparing signalling design documentation, interface specs, calculations, and reports.
• Familiarity with RAMS, functional safety, and international standards (EN 50126/EN 50128/EN 50129, IEC, IEEE).
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of railway signalling systems for diverse rail projects.
• Prepare signalling layouts, control tables, interfaces, scheme plans, and specifications.
• Develop signalling architecture meeting safety and performance requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces with telecoms, SCADA, traction power, track, rolling stock, and other systems.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, hazard analyses, safety assessments, and testing planning.
• Review consultant and contractor submissions for technical quality and compliance.
• Identify technical risks and propose engineering solutions across the project lifecycle.
• Support client meetings, technical workshops and design presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
