Job summary

Edge Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced FPGA Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain firmware for advanced radar systems. You will work with Digital Transceiver Modules (DTM), high-speed interfaces, and embedded microcontroller integration to enable real-time transceiver operation.

Your work includes RTL development (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), design of radar signal chains, data handling, and collaboration with RF, DSP, and software teams to ensure robust system performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of firmware/embedded/FPGA experience for defense clients.
• Solid radar digital architecture and signal flow knowledge.
• Experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA platforms.
• Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces and CDC/timing analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA firmware for radar transmit/receive processing chains.
• Develop RTL using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog for real-time applications.
• Build and integrate Digital Transceiver Modules (DTM) for TX/RX path control and data handling.
• Interface with ADC/DAC, RF transceivers, mixers, and timing circuits.
• Develop FPGA logic for data framing, timing, PRI/PRF control, pulse shaping, sequencing.
• Integrate FPGA with embedded microcontrollers for configuration and health monitoring.
• Implement interfaces such as SPI, UART, I2C, JESD204B/C, LVDS, Ethernet.
• Support clocking architecture, synchronization, and deterministic latency.
• Perform simulation, verification, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
• Collaborate with RF, DSP, and software teams for system-level integration.
