Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced FPGA Firmware Engineer in the UAE to design and maintain FPGA firmware for advanced radar systems. You will work on Digital Transceiver Modules (DTMs) integration and embedded MCU coordination.

You will implement high-speed interfaces, real-time control logic, data framing, timing and trigger generation, and collaborate with RF, DSP, and software teams to deliver reliable transceiver performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in firmware/embedded/FPGA for defense.
• Solid radar digital architecture and signal flow knowledge.
• Experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera platforms.
• Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Experience with DTM architecture and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience with CDC, timing analysis, and MCU interfacing.
• Familiarity with ADC/DAC and RF control.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA firmware for radar processing chains.
• Develop RTL using VHDL / Verilog / SystemVerilog for real-time applications.
• Build and integrate Digital Transceiver Modules (DTM) for TX/RX control and data handling.
• Interface with ADC/DAC, RF transceivers, mixers, and timing circuits.
• Develop FPGA logic for data framing, timing, PRI/PRF control, and pulse shaping.
• Integrate FPGA with embedded microcontrollers for configuration and health monitoring.
• Implement interfaces such as SPI, UART, I2C, JESD204B/C, LVDS, Ethernet.
• Perform simulation, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
• Collaborate with RF, DSP, and software teams for system-level integration.
