Job summary

Barrington James seeks a Technical Pre-Sales professional to join a growing European commercial team. This role sits at the intersection of quantum computing, commercial strategy and customer engagement, acting as a technical translator to help both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand how advanced quantum computing technologies can be applied to their challenges.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, ML or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience, ideally in the private sector.
• Strong understanding of quantum computing fundamentals and the broader quantum technology ecosystem.
• Knowledge of quantum algorithms, machine learning, HPC or other relevant computational technologies would be highly beneficial.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Technical Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering, Field Engineering, Applications Engineering, Technical Business Development or a similar position.
• Experience working directly with external customers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Communicate the value and potential of advanced quantum computing technologies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Engage with prospective customers across Europe and identify opportunities within targeted industries.
• Understand customer challenges and translate complex technical capabilities into relevant business and application opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, including senior and executive-level decision-makers.
• Support the commercial team throughout the sales process, from initial engagement through to contract discussions.
• Work closely with sales, product and R&D teams to develop a deep understanding of the company's technology, products and roadmap.
• Attend conferences, industry events and customer meetings across Europe.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of go-to-market strategy, customer engagement processes and commercial activities.
