Job summary

Secretariat in Dubai is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveying Manager to join our Construction Quantum team. Based in our Dubai office, you will support testifying Expert Witnesses on construction and engineering disputes.

The role requires 5–10 years' experience in quantity surveying/cost engineering, strong Excel/CostX skills, and the ability to draft robust expert report appendices. Travel domestically and internationally may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in building construction, engineering, quantity surveying or related field.
• 5-10 years' experience in a relevant field of quantity surveying, cost engineering, contracts management, construction management.
• Prior experience of working with Expert Witnesses.
• Strong software skills: MS Office Suite (especially Word & Excel), CostX / BIM / Buildsoft / Expert Estimation or similar.
• Experience in the preparation of first principles construction cost estimates.
• Experience in writing or contributing to Quantum Expert reports.
• Familiarity with construction cost management.
• Excellent written and verbal skills; able to meet tight deadlines and travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Support testifying Expert Witnesses with a long-term path to becoming a testifying expert.
• Assist world-renowned Quantum experts in dispute resolution, litigation support and expert witness evidence.
• Perform data research, management and analysis, and assisting in drafting sections of expert reports.
• Reviewing documentation (drawings, specifications, reports, estimates, variations, correspondence and financial data) to identify key details for expert reports.
• Assisting in analysis or preparation of valuations and the processing and use of big data.
• Managing the workload and tasks of the project team; budgeting and fee reports.
