Job summary

Al Marwan Group seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor – Road & Infrastructure in the UAE. You will oversee commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale projects, manage cost/value reporting, and administer contracts under FIDIC rules.

Ideal candidate has 8+ years in infrastructure QS roles, UAE experience preferred, and strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Role requires on-site oversight across major projects with close client coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, UAE preferred.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure construction (roads, drainage, utilities, bridges, etc.).
• Proven expertise in cost/value reporting and commercial analysis.
• Knowledge of UAE contract laws and procurement processes (FIDIC).
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
• High accuracy and methodical work approach.
• Proficient in QS software CCS, Excel and ERP systems.
• MRICS membership is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, cost control systems and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports for Senior Management.
• Maintain relationships with Client QS and Consultant QS.
• Prepare interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
• Administer contracts per local and international standards (FIDIC Red/Yellow).
• Identify, evaluate and submit variations and change orders.
• Provide commercial input for risk management and financial performance.
• Support claims, disputes and contractual issues handling.
• Conduct detailed measurements for final costs and verification.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and teams.
• Mentor junior QS team members as required.

Quantity Surveyor – Road & Infrastructure

Al Marwan Developments is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor – Road & Infrastructure to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects across the UAE. The role involves overseeing Cost and Value Management, contract administration, valuations, variations, and final accounts. UAE experience is highly preferred due to local market practices and regulatory requirements; however, strong candidates outside the UAE may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor project budgets, cost/value control systems, and cash flow forecasts
• Prepare monthly commercial reports for submission to Senior Management
• Maintain strong working relationships with Client QS and/or Consultant QS
• Prepare and submit interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts
• Administer contracts in accordance with local and international standards (including FIDIC Red and Yellow Book)
• Identify, evaluate, and submit variations, new rates, and change orders
• Provide commercial input for project risk management and financial performance
• Support in the preparation and defense of claims, disputes, and contractual issues
• Conduct detailed measurements for final accounts and cost verification
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
• Mentor and support junior QS team members as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within UAE infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of infrastructure construction (roads, drainage, utilities, bridges, metro, airports, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of FIDIC and UAE-specific contract laws and procurement processes
• Proven expertise in cost/value reporting and commercial analysis
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work under pressure
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and a methodical work approach
• Proficient in major QS and cost-management software ( CCS, Excel, ERP systems)
• Professional membership such as MRICS is advantageous but not mandatory
