Job summary

Azizi Developments, a leading UAE real estate developer, seeks a Quantity Surveyor- MEP to handle cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and contract administration for complex MEP projects. You will manage variations, progress claims, and commercial controls across busy sites.

The role requires strong knowledge of QS practices, FIDIC-based contracts, and coordination with PQS and operations. A driving license is mandatory for site visits and project supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or PG Diploma in Quantity Surveying & Contract Management.
• Proficiency in Primavera, MS Project and HVAC design/drafting tools; Autodesk cert preferred.
• Valid Driving License is required and knowledge of standard contracts.

Responsibilities

• Pre-measure allocated trades and sections at contract start up.
• Agree monthly measures and variation costing with clients and PQS.
• Conduct site inspections and review progress and possible variations.
• Coordinate with Operations Team on site daily regarding the work programme.
• Re-measure works as required and prepare monthly progress claims.
• Value new rates and variations; manage Sub-Contractor pricing and payments.
• Prepare Sub-Contractor documentation for payments and final accounts.
• Monitor costs against budgets and report variances on a monthly basis.
• Delegate tasks to Junior/Assistant QS and ensure timely delivery.

We are currently hiring for Quantity Surveyor- MEP to join our commercial department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation and verification, cost estimation, contract administration, variation orders, progress billing, and commercial management for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects.

Responsibilities:

• To pre-measure allocated trades and sections at contract start up
• To work with the clients, PQS and team liaison to agree monthly measures, final measures and variation costing.
• To complete site inspections on a regular basis, reviewing progress and possible variations.
• To communicate with the Operations Team on site on a daily basis, understanding the work programme and progress on site.
• To re-measure works as required.
• To prepare monthly progress claims.
• To measure and value new rates and variations.
• To send Sub-Contractor packages for pricing and evaluation before placement of order.
• To generate Sub-Contractor documentation for payments, contra charges and final accounts.
• To monitor and report on costs from allowable and budgets.
• To keep track of labour, materials, plant and formwork ensuring the costs are within the allowable zone and reporting any anomalies.
• To report costs on a monthly basis, detailing cost reconciliations.
• To delegate responsibilities to the Junior / Assistant QS where necessary
• To monitor the work delivered by the Junior / Assistant QS ensuring it is accurate and produced on time

Requirements

• Bachelor's (Mechanical Engineering) or PG Diploma in Quantity Surveying & Contract Management
• Well versed in Primavera, MS Project, PG HVAC Design & Drafting, Autodesk Certification
• Driving License is a must
• Knowledge of FIDIC Redbook 1999, POMI 1987, NRM 1/2/3
