Job description

We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical Project Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization you will play a crucial role in managing costs for marine projects ensuring financial efficiency and contractual compliance.

  • Prepare and analyze cost estimates for construction projects including materials labor and equipment
  • Conduct onsite measurements and quantity takeoffs to verify project progress and costs
  • Manage change control processes including additional works notifications and purchase orders
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of subcontractor payment certificatesCollaborate with the finance team on internal and external forecasting and accruals
  • Maintain a database of accredited subcontractors and oversee the procurement strategy
  • Manage green claim income liaising with legal representatives and loss adjusters when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies related to commercial processes
  • Prepare detailed reports on project costs variances and financial performance
  • Support the Commercial Manager in achieving commercially driven objectives and monitoring key performance indicators
  • Promote continuous improvement within the organization and implement effective corrective and preventive measures
  • Advise colleagues from other departments on commercial issues relevant to their work
  • Evaluate and control key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure project efficiency
Qualifications :
  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Minimum of HND in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent
  • MRICS MCInstCES status or equivalent is highly desirable
  • PRINCE2 Accreditation is a plus
  • Proven experience in Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of main forms of contract subcontracts and procurement options
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g. CostX CCS)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience in implementing commercial management functions processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and bidding procedures
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Dubai and the UAE
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
