Job summary

BeWunder, a turnkey partner in Event Production and Spatial Experiences, seeks a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial success from tender to final account. You will lead cost estimates, BoQs, and commercial strategies across diverse projects, coordinating with PM, Procurement, and Design teams.

You will manage variations, claims, and contractual entitlements, ensuring value delivery, risk mitigation, and robust reporting to leadership in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Cost Management or Contract Administration within project-based industries.
  • Experience in main contracting, interior fit-out, exhibition construction, MEP, infrastructure, media technology, or turnkey projects.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
  • Experience managing project costs from tender stage through project completion and final account settlement.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, contract administration, commercial management principles and claims management processes.
  • Proven experience in variation management, contractual claims preparation, negotiation and resolution.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop strategic approaches to complex commercial and contractual challenges.
  • Advanced analytical and financial management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent MS Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Fluent English is required; additional languages (German) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and commercial proposals for turnkey projects across Spatial Experiences and Event Production.
  • Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQs), scope breakdowns and structured work packages during tender and proposal phases.
  • Prepare tender packages and manage commercial engagement with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate, benchmark and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and commercial value.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives to align project budgets with design, technical and operational requirements.
  • Establish and maintain project cost control systems, ensuring continuous visibility of budget performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Manage project variations, change orders and commercial adjustments from identification through negotiation and final agreement.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for variations, extension of time claims, disruption claims and other contractual entitlements.
  • Interpret and administer project contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and effective management of contractual risks.
  • Manage subcontractor commercial performance, including procurement support, payment assessments, variation evaluations and final account settlements.
  • Prepare cost forecasts, cash flow projections and commercial reports for project and business leadership.
  • Support project teams in identifying, mitigating and managing commercial and contractual risks throughout project execution.

Job description

Your mission

As a Quantity Surveyor focused on Turnkey Projects, you are responsible for the commercial success of projects from tender stage through to final account settlement. You lead the development of cost estimates, project budgets, commercial strategies and cost controls while ensuring that project delivery remains aligned with contractual, financial and business objectives.

A key part of your role is the management of variations, claims and contractual entitlements. You proactively identify commercial opportunities and risks, develop strategic approaches to change management and claims resolution, and ensure that contractual rights and obligations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with Project Management, Procurement, Technical Design, Production teams and senior leadership, you provide commercial leadership across a wide range of disciplines including fit-out, exhibition construction, event production, AV, lighting, infrastructure and technical systems.

Your Responsibilities

Your profile
