QHSE/HSE Officer - Catering Company

Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an HSE Officer to oversee safety across workplaces and labour camps in Abu Dhabi. You will conduct inspections, identify hazards, ensure regulatory compliance and support audits. Prior experience in catering or labour accommodations is beneficial, with NEBOSH IGC mandatory.

You will lead safety inductions, manage incident investigations and maintain HSE documentation while coordinating with site management and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• NEBOSH IGC is mandatory.
• Knowledge of ADNOC HSE practices is an added advantage.
• Minimum three years of relevant HSE experience.
• Previous labour camp or accommodation facility experience is preferred.
• HACCP or food-safety certification is preferred for catering-related roles.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, emergency response and HSE documentation.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine HSE inspections of workplaces, labour camps and accommodation facilities.

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements and UAE regulations.
• Monitor fire safety, emergency preparedness, sanitation and employee welfare conditions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and HSE awareness training.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and compliance with safe working procedures.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, training records and corrective-action trackers.
• Coordinate emergency drills, first-aid arrangements and pest-control activities.
• Support internal and external audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support quality, hygiene and food-safety compliance within catering operations.
• Coordinate with operations, site management and other departments on HSE matters.

• Previous experience in labour camps or accommodation facilities is preferred.

• Experience within a catering company is an advantage.

• HACCP or food-safety certification is preferred for candidates handling catering-related quality and hygiene responsibilities.

• Good knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, emergency response and HSE documentation.

• Valid First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.

• Strong communication, reporting and employee-training skills.

• Ability to work independently and visit different operational sites as required.
