Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced PMC Permit Issuer Engineer to oversee the Permit to Work system on project sites. You will administer, review and issue permits for hot/cold work, ensure JSA and risk assessments are in place, and coordinate with multiple contractors to maintain HSE compliance throughout construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.

Required are a Bachelor's in Engineering and 10+ years in oil & gas or industrial projects with PTW experience.

Qualifications

Experience with Permit to Work systems in major industrial facilities.
Experience coordinating with multiple contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of HSE procedures and risk controls.

Responsibilities

Administer, implement, and maintain the PTW system per HSE procedures.
Review, verify, and issue permits for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations.
Ensure permits are supported by JSA, risk assessments, method statements, and documentation.
Verify hazards are identified and control measures are in place.
Conduct site inspections prior to permit issuance for readiness and safety compliance.
Ensure LOTO, isolation, gas testing, barricading and other precautions are in place before work begins.
Issue and control permits for Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space, Excavation, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation, Lifting, Radiography, Pressure Testing, SIMOPS.
