Job summary

John Wood Group PLC is seeking an experienced PMC Permit Coordinator for Abu Dhabi to supervise the Permit to Work (PTW) system on onshore oil and gas projects, ensuring risk assessments and safety documentation accompany permit issuance. The role requires ADNOC PTW expertise, strong HSE knowledge, and coordination across construction, operations, and contractor teams.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in oil & gas, 5+ years as Permit Issuer/Area Authority, and ADNOC Onshore experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas onshore projects.
At least 5 years’ experience as Permit Issuer / Area Authority.
Strong experience on ADNOC Onshore projects is mandatory.
ADNOC Permit to Work (PTW) Issuer / Area Authority certification.
IOSH / NEBOSH (preferred).

Responsibilities

Supervise the issuance, monitoring, and closure of work permits for all construction and maintenance activities.
Ensure permits are issued in accordance with ADNOC PTW procedures and project HSE requirements.
Verify that all required risk assessments, method statements, and safety documents are attached before permit approval.
Maintain strict control over simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) activities.
Coordinate with construction, operations, HSE, and contractor teams before permit issuance.
Conduct site verification to confirm work conditions match permit requirements.
Ensure conflicting permits or hazardous activities are identified and controlled.
Monitor permit validity and ensure timely suspension, extension, or cancellation.
Provide PTW system training and guidance to contractors and project personnel.
