Job summary

DSV is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Abu Dhabi to lead end-to-end project cargo operations for oversized and heavy lift shipments. You will manage a small dedicated team, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain strict safety and budget controls across multimodal routes.

You will review lifting plans and engineering studies, collaborate with ports and contractors, and drive commercial negotiations to protect margins while delivering high-value logistics solutions in the Middle East.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Administration.
• 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience managing heavy lift, breakbulk, and industrial project cargo operations.
• Proven technical competency in reviewing lifting plans, transport engineering studies, and multimodal routing calculations.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing project budgets, subcontractor negotiations, and vendor performance.
• Demonstrated team leadership skills and fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive project logistics plans for oversized, out-of-gauge (OOG), and heavy lift cargo.
• Direct a 3–5 person logistics team to ensure multimodal schedules are delivered on time, safely, and within budget.
• Review method statements, lifting plans, and route surveys to evaluate technical feasibility.
• Negotiate commercial terms with vessel operators, heavy lift contractors, and service providers to optimize profitability.

The Context

DSV, one of the world's largest global transport and logistics providers, is hiring a Project Manager for its Air & Sea division in Abu Dhabi. The position focuses on leading complex, door-to-door project cargo operations, heavy lift transport, and breakbulk movements across the Middle East and international trade corridors.

What The Role Covers

End-to-End Project Execution & Team Leadership

You design and execute comprehensive project logistics plans for oversized, out-of-gauge (OOG), and heavy lift cargo from origin to final destination. You direct a dedicated operational team of 3 to 5 logistics professionals, ensuring complex multimodal transport schedules are delivered on time, safely, and within budget.

Technical Feasibility & Engineering Governance

You review method statements, transport studies, lifting plans, and route surveys to evaluate technical feasibility. You collaborate closely with transport engineers, port authorities, heavy haul contractors, and shipping lines to navigate bridge capacities, road restrictions, and specialized permit requirements.

Commercial Control & Vendor Management

You maintain full financial accountability for project budgets, cost tracking, and margin performance across all assignments. You negotiate commercial terms with vessel operators, heavy lift contractors, and service providers to optimize profitability and mitigate financial or operational risks.
