The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, control, and successful delivery of electrical substation projects, including 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and distribution substations, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams comprising civil, electrical, mechanical, commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and subcontractor personnel to achieve project objectives within approved schedules and budgets. The Project Manager oversees the complete project lifecycle from initiation, engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover, while ensuring effective stakeholder management with clients, consultants, utility authorities, vendors, and subcontractors. Key responsibilities include project planning, resource allocation, schedule monitoring, cost control, risk management, contract administration, progress reporting, and implementation of recovery plans to mitigate delays and project risks. The Project Manager ensures seamless coordination among various disciplines, resolves technical and commercial issues, monitors project performance against key milestones, and drives compliance with quality assurance, quality control, and HSE requirements. The role also includes managing project budgets, evaluating variations and claims, optimizing resource utilization, reviewing project deliverables, overseeing procurement activities, and ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment. Additionally, the Project Manager leads progress review meetings, monitors subcontractor performance, supports testing and commissioning activities, ensures closure of punch points and NCRs, and oversees the preparation of as-built documentation and project closeout reports. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with extensive experience in managing high-voltage substation and EPC projects. Through effective project governance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic leadership, the Project Manager ensures the successful, safe, and profitable delivery of substation projects while meeting client requirements and organizational objectives.
