The Civil Construction Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of all civil construction activities associated with electrical substation projects, including 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and distribution substations. Reporting to the Project Manager or Project Director, the role ensures that all civil works, such as control and GIS buildings, transformer and reactor foundations, equipment plinths, cable trenches, duct banks, oil containment bunds, roads, drainage systems, earthing facilities, gantry foundations, utility corridors, and other associated infrastructure, are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, quality standards, and HSE regulations. The Civil Construction Manager leads multidisciplinary teams comprising site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and electrical construction personnel, ensuring effective coordination and seamless interface management throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include developing construction methodologies, resource planning, schedule monitoring, progress tracking, risk mitigation, technical review of IFC and shop drawings, quality assurance implementation, subcontractor management, cost control, and timely resolution of site issues. The role also involves close coordination with clients, consultants, and utility authorities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, successful completion of inspections, closure of NCRs and punch points, and maintenance of project documentation, including progress reports and as-built records. Through strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective stakeholder management, the Civil Construction Manager ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective completion of substation projects while meeting client expectations and organizational objectives.
