Job summary

ekthar is seeking a dynamic, highly organized Senior Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives in a government-linked environment in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with executive leadership and stakeholders to drive end-to-end delivery and governance.

The role requires 8–10+ years in project management, experience in government or consulting, and strong stakeholder management. Bachelor's degree is expected; Master's and PMP/PRINCE2 are desirable.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of project or programme management experience leading large-scale initiatives.
• Experience in top-tier management consulting (MBB) or senior government/government-linked roles.
• Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi's government and institutional landscape.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex strategic projects from initiation through completion.
• Drive planning, execution, governance, budgeting, risk management, and reporting.
• Present updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership and C-suite.
• Coordinate with entities, partners, consultants, and vendors to ensure delivery.
• Establish and maintain project management standards and governance frameworks.
• Mentor and allocate resources across concurrent initiatives.
• Oversee procurement activities and vendor performance.
• Continuously improve project delivery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex strategic projects from initiation through successful completion.
• Drive project planning, execution, governance, budgeting, risk management, and reporting.
• Present project updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
• Coordinate across multiple entities, partners, consultants, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Establish and maintain project management standards, governance frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
• Lead, mentor, and allocate project resources across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Manage procurement activities and oversee vendor and consultant performance.
• Continuously improve project delivery capabilities and contribute to building a high-performing PM function.

What We're Looking For:

• 8–10+ years of project or programme management experience leading large-scale, high-impact initiatives.
• Previous experience within a top-tier management consulting firm (MBB) or a comparable senior role in a government or government-linked organization.
• Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi's government and institutional landscape is mandatory.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Confident presenting to executive leadership and driving strategic decision-making.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline from a reputable university; a Master's degree is highly desirable.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
