Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects from conception through completion. Qualifications

  • Proficiency in contract administration and project management processes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate project records in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Problem-solving and decision‑making abilities in dynamic environments.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and vendor/supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee complex multidisciplinary projects across all lifecycle stages from planning to handover.
  • Maintain proactive client communication with design teams, procurement, cost engineers, and safety personnel.
  • Administer contracts and manage stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage scope changes via formal change control; document progress and impacts.
  • Build client relationships and explore new opportunities and growth.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies for resilience.
  • Oversee QA processes and coordinate with teams to meet standards.
  • Prepare detailed project records and reports using traditional and digital systems.
  • Lead cross-functional teams with empathy and assertiveness toward goals.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will lead the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects from conception through completion.   • Lead and oversee complex, multidisciplinary projects across all lifecycle stages, from initial planning and design through construction and handover, while maintaining alignment with client objectives, timelines, and financial constraints
  • Establish and maintain transparent, proactive communication with clients, design teams, procurement specialists, cost engineers, planning professionals, construction teams, and occupational health and safety personnel to ensure coordinated project execution and timely issue resolution
  • Administer contracts effectively, managing contractual processes, obligations, and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with agreed terms
  • Manage project scope changes through formal change control procedures, analyzing impacts on program, cost, and quality while maintaining comprehensive project documentation and progress reporting
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by providing exceptional support, identifying emerging opportunities, and contributing to business development initiatives and organizational growth
  • Analyze project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project resilience and successful outcomes
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and coordinate with relevant teams to maintain project standards and deliverables
  • Prepare accurate, detailed project records and reports using both traditional and digital systems to ensure transparency and informed decision-making
  • Lead cross-functional teams with empathy and assertiveness, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment that motivates team members toward shared goals
Minimum Requirements
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects in a consultancy or client organization setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in pre- and post-contract project management across the full project lifecycle
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities and experience maintaining robust relationships with diverse teams
  • Proficiency in contract administration and project management processes
  • Ability to maintain accurate project records in both paper and electronic formats
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities in dynamic project environments
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience with conflict resolution and vendor/supplier management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, or related field (Master's Degree preferred)
  • NEC3/4 Contract Administration Accreditation
  • Chartered Status with professional institutions such as RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, APM, or equivalent organization
  • Proficiency with project management software and digital tools
  • Experience in quality assurance oversight and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Background in business development and identifying new project opportunities
  • Knowledge of regional project requirements and compliance standards relevant to the United Arab Emirates market
  • Certification in risk management or advanced project management methodologies
