Job summary

Logsqr is seeking an experienced Project Manager based in Dubai to lead complex intralogistics projects across the MEA region, including UAE, KSA and Africa. You will supervise engineering and after-sales teams, define schedules, budgets and risk plans, and coordinate with general contractors, owners and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex intralogistics projects incl. material handling, controls, WMS/WCS integration.
• Supervise execution and after-sales support teams.
• Plan, monitor, and control projects with stakeholders (GC/owners).
• Define schedules, budgets, risk, changes, and resources.
• Develop and execute commissioning/integration test plans.
• Develop workflows, jobs, and reporting lines for project teams.
• Coordinate on-site activities with multiple contractors.

Focal Responsibility

• To manage complex intralogistics projects featuring material handling systems, industrial controls, WCS/WMS software and deliver against targets.
• To supervise and guide the execution and after sales support teams
• The Project Manager will be based in Dubai, but intensively traveling and covering activities within MEA namely UAE, KSA and African markets.

Core Functions

• Responsible for delivery of complex project plans.
• Ownership of project responsibilities inclusive of commercial and personnel management.
• Planning, Monitoring and Controlling projects and interfacing with General Contractors, Construction Managers or owners.
• Project/program management role (definition of schedule, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource allocation tasks) .
• Provide empirical Support to Engineering and Automation teams.
• Active support role in maintaining client relationships.
• Defining work flows, jobs, and reporting relationships of a project team to obtain optimum effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
• Understanding of the dynamic handling characteristics, constraints and risks associated with the wide range of materials handled and applications of a variety of products within a material handling system.
• Understanding and knowledge of various controls architectures, related controls levels, and the functionality of controls domains, inclusive of WMS and WCS integration.
• Knowledge and ability to identify and develop the proper team skills required for the successful implementation of the various products and subsystems employed in systems inclusive of mechanical, controls, software, and installation functions.

• Ability to develop detailed project schedules inclusive of all in-scope engineering, manufacturing, installation, and integration schedule activities
• Development and execute equipment, subsystem, and system commissioning and integration test plans.
• Ability to develop, define, and execute acceptance test plans inclusive of physical, functional, rate, and availability testing.
• Knowledge of 3rd party procurement including development of RFPs/RFQs, bid review and assessment, and award in cooperation with purchasing resources.
• Experience with and execution of general processes associated with change control, approvals, and information exchange involving several stake holders, both internal and external, in particular with a number of subcontractors.
• Ability to coordinate the execution of activities by internal resources as well as owner/general contractor resources and recognize proactively issues that require corrective action and impact on timely execution.
• Coordinate work between internal teams and the client/contractor's resources, spotting problems early and acting before they impact the schedule.
• Ability to cause team and organizational action to mitigate scope, schedule, and cost concerns both internally and with customers.
• Rally the team and organization to resolve scope, schedule, or cost issues both internally and with customers.
• Experience with the coordination of on-site activities involving many (sub) contractors vying for the same space and time windows.
• Coordinate on-site activities across multiple contractors sharing the same space and time windows.

• Support the administrative tasks and Office processes
• Participate in evaluating and recommending changes in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility.
• Identify resource requirements with supporting plans and justification.

Educational / Professional Qualifications

• Essential
  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline – Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems engineering.
  • ACAD and Project Management software

  • PMP or equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years experience
  • Proven experience in industrial/automation project management
  • Previous experience in Logistics / Industrial sector
  • Previous Project Management experience in MENA
  • Familiar with Storage and Material Handling Solutions

  • Experience of working in a customer-based environment therefore understanding the importance of ascertaining customer needs
