Job summary

Tandem Interim is looking for an experienced Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineer to support the Technical & Asset Manager in wastewater treatment, networks and treated effluent assets, and overall asset management.

The role will act as a technical deputy, independently managing engineering assignments, supporting operations, delivering capital projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient utility operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or Water/Wastewater Engineering.
• Approximately 8–12 years of experience in water, wastewater or utility engineering.
• Experience delivering capital projects and providing operational support.

Role Overview:

To support the Technical & Asset Manager, along with a supported function to the Contract Manager in the management and continuous improvement of wastewater treatment, network and treated effluent assets by providing engineering leadership across operational support, capital projects, asset management and stakeholder coordination. The role acts as the principal technical deputy to the Technical & Asset Manager and is expected to independently manage engineering assignments, support operational performance, deliver capital projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable and efficient utility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the technical performance of wastewater treatment, network and treated effluent assets. Support troubleshooting of process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, Employer's Requirements and tender documentation. Review engineering designs, contractor submissions and commissioning documentation.
• Support development and implementation of the Asset Management Plan.
• Assist in the preparation, review and administration of contracts, service agreements and procurement documentation.
• Ensure engineering and project activities are undertaken in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, governance requirements and industry best practice.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental or Water/Wastewater Engineering.
• Approximately 8–12 years of experience in water, wastewater or utility engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in both capital project delivery and operational support.
• Experience managing engineering consultants and contractors.
• Experience within utility, concession or PPP environments is desirable. Knowledge & Skills
