Job summary

Delta in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Wastewater Engineer to support the development, maintenance and updating of regulations, codes of operation and standards for wastewater. You will review planning statements and performance reports, ensure compliance with regulations, and oversee metering and licensing initiatives.

You will also drive KPI development, assist with economic reviews and coordinate with the HSE team to address issues as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of operational and design experience in water sector.
• Good understanding of the strategic direction of the Abu Dhabi water sector and requirements of key stakeholders.
• Good understanding of electricity networks and transmission systems.
• Good understanding of system planning, operation and maintenance and control.
• Deep understanding of regulatory functions.

Responsibilities

• Review planning statements for 5 years and assess regulatory impact.
• Review performance reports of recycled water companies and ensure accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Regulations and relevant guides including Water Tinkering Regulations.
• Manage wastewater and recycled water supply audits and related plans with follow-up.
• Develop KPIs and monitor progress; support Price Control and Capex reviews.

Job description

Job Purpose

• The Wastewater Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance and updating of regulation, codes of operations and standards of wastewater, including planning statements, performance reports and water losses and regulations.


• In addition, the Wastewater Engineer is responsible for supporting in monitoring new and existing regulations, code of operations and standards including technical standards, performance and providing feedback on what has worked well.


• Review of wastewater planning statements for 5 years


• Review the performance reports of the recycled water companies.


• Ensure the compliance with the Regulations and relevant guides


• Ensure the compliance with the Water Tinkering Regulations and relevant guides.


• Manage wastewater and recycled water supply related audits and other plans together with follow up


• As part of the Water Regulation Section, oversee the performance and development of the Metering, and Codes, as well as other codes and licenses where necessary


• Review and provide guidance to the development of technical standards, regulations and measures


• Development of methodologies for assessment of relevant regulatory submissions for compliance purposes.


• Manage all related incidents and ensure coordinated follow up is implemented.


• Development of key performance indicators and monitor progress.


• Support the economics team in the Price Control and Technical Assessor Reviews. As well as the Capex reviews.


• Contribute to HSE issues arising with the Licensee in conjunction with the HSE Officer or Adviser.


• Perform any other duties that may occasionally be required by the Company.

Education

EducationBachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Engineering, etc.

Experience

• 3-5 years of operational and design experience in water sector


• Good understanding of the strategic direction of the Abu Dhabi water sector, the objectives for the sector, the strategic direction of the Department and requirements of key stakeholders understanding of the water sector globally, regionally and in Abu Dhabi


• Good understanding of electricity networks and transmission systems


• Good understanding of system planning, operation and maintenance and control
