Job summary

Public Services Department-RAK seeks a senior civil engineer to lead planning, design, and technical oversight of Wet Utilities projects in Ras Al Khaimah. You will guide engineers and draftsmen, ensuring safety, sustainability, and high public service standards across sewerage, TSE, stormwater, and outfall systems.

The role requires 10–15 years of UAE-related experience, expertise in WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS, and English fluency. A Master's degree is preferred and PMP is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized university; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 10–15 years of progressive experience designing Wet Utilities infrastructure in the Middle East, UAE-based project experience preferred.
• Proficiency in WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS; PMP or equivalent PM certification is an advantage.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, design, and delivery of Wet Utilities projects.
• Conduct and review analyses to ensure safe, functional designs compliant with regulations.
• Direct design and tender documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, and related software.
• Mentor engineers and draftsmen, uphold QA across design documentation.
• Coordinate with internal departments, government agencies, and contractors.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead the planning, design, and technical oversight of Wet Utilities infrastructure — including sewerage networks, treated sewage effluent (TSE) systems, stormwater drainage, and outfall pump stations. You will guide a team of engineers and draftsmen, uphold rigorous engineering and quality standards, and work closely with government entities, consultants, and contractors to ensure our infrastructure reflects the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and public service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning, design, and delivery of Wet Utilities projects in accordance with industry standards and organizational objectives
• Conduct and review complex engineering analyses to ensure all designs are safe, functional, and fully compliant with applicable regulations
• Direct the preparation of design and tender documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, and related engineering software
• Anticipate and manage design constraints, interfaces, and risks across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery
• Prepare cost estimates and contribute to infrastructure program budgeting
• Mentor and develop a team of engineers and designers, cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
• Engage proactively with internal departments, government agencies, contractors, and the public to align project objectives and incorporate stakeholder feedback
• Serve as a technical authority on Wet Utilities design, providing guidance from concept through execution
• Coordinate timely, well-informed responses to technical queries from internal and external parties
• Uphold quality assurance across all design documentation and engineering deliverables through thorough review processes
• Design and deliver structured training programs to support the growth of junior engineering staff

• 10–15 years of progressive experience designing Wet Utilities infrastructure in the Middle East, with a strong preference for UAE-based project experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in specialized software such as WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS
• PMP or an equivalent project management certification is an advantage
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is preferred
