Job Purpose

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising project execution to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and adherence to contractual and technical requirements. The role requires close collaboration with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to drive successful project outcomes within approved budgets and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling project activities.
• Ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved within the agreed timeline.

Technical & Engineering Support

• Provide technical input and solutions during design, construction, and implementation stages.
• Review drawings, designs, and specifications to ensure accuracy and constructability.

Resource & Procurement Coordination

• Identify material, plant, and equipment requirements and ensure timely procurement.
• Monitor resource utilization to optimize efficiency.

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular coordination and progress meetings.

Site Supervision & Compliance

• Oversee site works, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and safety standards.
• Monitor subcontractors’ performance and resolve technical/site issues promptly.

Quality & Safety Assurance

• Implement quality assurance processes to meet project specifications.
• Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and submit project progress reports (daily, weekly, and monthly).
• Document variations, delays, and technical issues, recommending corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering projects, preferably in landscaping, infrastructure, or related works.
