Job summary

SML Engineering & Contracting seeks a seasoned Project Manager to lead the Fujairah Hotel project, unifying design, procurement and construction under a single master programme. This role protects P&L, schedule and quality, guiding interfaces with client/operator, consultants, and authorities toward handover by March 2029.

The ideal candidate has 20+ years in construction, including two hotel/resort delivery projects, and UAE/GCC D&B leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• PMP/chartered status and/or BIM and executive-reporting capabilities are advantageous.
• Experience leading large-scale hotel/construction projects in design-build environments is preferred.

• Integrate design, approvals, procurement, and construction under one master programme and release plan.

Job description

The Project Manager exists to serve as the single accountable leader for the safe, profitable, and timely delivery of the Fujairah Hotel project — integrating design, procurement, and construction under one master programme, and protecting the project's P&L, schedule, and quality through to final handover and DLP transition by March 2029.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the project P&L, cash flow, EAC, contract, and change/claims management, protecting the project's margin.
• Integrate design, approvals, procurement, and construction under one master programme and release plan.
• Lead the client/operator, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors; close out decisions and interfaces.
• Drive package ownership, production, risk controls, reporting, and recovery across the project organisation.
• Assure HSE, quality, mock-ups, testing and commissioning, statutory/operator acceptance, and handover by March 2029.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years' construction experience, including 8 years in senior PM leadership.
• Must have personally delivered at least two hotel/resort projects, including one UAE/GCC design-and-build project through testing, commissioning, and handover.
• UAE/GCC contractor-side D&B leadership on a complex building of comparable scale (approximately AED 400m / 45,000 m²).
• Proven control of P&L, EAC, cash flow, procurement, variations/claims, and FIDIC/lump-sum contracts.
• Hands-on command of programme, site production, subcontractors, recovery, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Willing and able to reside and work full-time in Fujairah for the duration of the project.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Ability to manage a project organisation of approximately 10–12 direct functional/package leads.
• Experience with an international luxury-hotel operator and soft-opening requirements is an advantage.
• Fujairah authority experience, or coastal resort/existing-foundation interface experience, is an advantage.
• PMP/chartered status and strong BIM, digital controls, and executive-reporting capability is an advantage.
• Fluent English required; Arabic and/or Turkish is an advantage.
