Job summary

EVgo is seeking a development engineer to produce site layouts, one-line diagrams, and permitting packages while ensuring code compliance and rigorous review of engineering documents.

You will research AHJ and utility requirements, track permit milestones, and manage pipeline reporting across project portfolios, coordinating with Site Development, Grid Integration, and external partners to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SketchUp, or Google Earth.
• Knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and standard electrical distribution requirements.
• Experience with utility, renewable energy, or high-voltage engineering preferred.
• EIT or progress toward a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce, Sitetracker, or similar project management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Produce development engineering deliverables including conceptual site layouts, single-line diagrams, and permitting packages
• Review engineering documents for quality, code compliance, and consistency with design standards
• Research AHJ and utility requirements to inform design approaches
• Track status of permit applications and approval milestones across project portfolios
• Maintain pipeline reporting and provide regular status updates on deliverable progress
• Coordinate with Site Development, Grid Integration, and external partners to ensure project requirements are met
