Job summary

KBR Abu Dhabi is looking for a seasoned Project Controls Manager to lead planning, cost control, risk, and reporting for a major offshore project. You will drive integrated schedules, develop KPIs, and ensure governance across ADNOC Offshore interfaces.

Ideal candidates have 15–20 years in oil & gas project controls, offshore experience, and strong leadership in EPC/EPCI environments. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and requires on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; master's preferred.
  • 15–20 years in oil & gas or major capital projects with offshore exposure.
  • 10+ years in project controls leadership on large EPC/EPCI projects.

Job Title:Project Control Manager KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position listed below in support of a major Offshore Project. The role will be based at either the Client's Office or the Contractor's Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Purpose The Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and managing all Project Controls activities for ADNOC Offshore projects, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The role provides strategic oversight and timely project performance information to support management decision-making, ensuring project objectives related to cost, schedule, quality, safety, and operational readiness are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Controls Leadership Lead and manage the Project Controls team comprising Planning Engineers, Cost Engineers, Risk Specialists, and Reporting Engineers. Develop and implement Project Controls procedures, systems, and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with ADNOC project execution, governance, and reporting standards. Provide professional guidance and leadership to project teams on all Project Controls matters.
  • Planning & Scheduling Establish and maintain integrated project schedules covering Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up activities. Review and approve EPC Contractor baseline schedules and schedule updates. Monitor project milestones, critical paths, and schedule performance indicators. Conduct delay analysis and develop recovery plans where required. Ensure schedule risks are identified and properly managed.
  • Cost Control & Forecasting Establish project cost control systems and procedures. Monitor approved budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts. Prepare periodic cost reports and management dashboards. Analyze variances and identify mitigation strategies. Ensure accurate forecasting of final project costs and cash flow requirements.
  • Progress Measurement & Performance Monitoring Develop and implement project progress measurement systems. Validate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning progress. Measure project performance using established KPIs and Earned Value Management techniques. Monitor productivity trends and contractor performance. Ensure accurate and timely performance reporting.
  • Risk Management Lead project risk management activities. Facilitate project risk workshops and periodic reviews. Maintain project risk registers and mitigation plans. Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments. Monitor risk exposure and report emerging project risks.
  • Change Management Administer the project change management process. Evaluate schedule and cost impacts of project changes. Review and monitor variation orders and change requests. Ensure changes are properly documented, approved, and communicated. Maintain change management records and reports.
  • Reporting & Management Information Prepare weekly and monthly project performance reports. Develop executive-level dashboards and KPI reports. Provide schedule, cost, risk, and progress analysis to Project Management. Present project performance updates to ADNOC Management and stakeholders. Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across all project disciplines.
  • Contractor Performance Management Review EPC Contractor planning, scheduling, and reporting deliverables. Monitor contractor compliance with contractual reporting obligations. Support evaluation of contractor claims and extension of time requests. Conduct project performance reviews and audits. Recommend corrective actions to improve project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Coordination Interface with ADNOC Offshore, PMC, EPC Contractors, Vendors, and other project stakeholders. Coordinate Project Controls activities across all project functions. Support management decision-making through reliable project data and analysis. Facilitate communication and alignment among project teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Preferred Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration (MBA), or related discipline.
  • Experience Requirements Essential Minimum 15- 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or Major Capital Projects.
  • Minimum 10 years in Project Controls leadership roles on large EPC/EPCI projects.
  • Proven experience managing Project Controls functions for offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Strong experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, risk management, and project reporting.
  • Experience working on projects exceeding USD 500 Million in value.
  • Preferred ADNOC Offshore project experience.
