Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Production Planning Engineer in the UAE to convert orders and drawings into detailed, shop-floor production plans. You will coordinate across departments to align capacity, material flow and delivery schedules, ensuring smooth production with minimal bottlenecks.

Responsibilities include master planning, sequencing, daily loading, capacity calculations, and KPI monitoring. A strong background in joinery and furniture manufacturing is essential.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of production planning experience in joinery or interior-fit-out manufacturing.
• Knowledge of joinery machinery, CNC operations, upholstery processes, finishing and metal fabrication.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, routing, machine capacity, cycle-time analysis, material planning, WIP control and production sequencing.
• Ability to read shop drawings, cutting lists, BOQs, material specifications and production details.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent and customised production orders.
• Strong analytical, coordination and problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to work with factory supervisors and machine operators to validate achievable targets.
• Engineering qualification in Industrial/Mechanical/Production or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare master production plans based on confirmed orders, approved drawings, material availability, site priorities, and contractual delivery dates.
• Break down each order into detailed production stages including cutting, machining, veneering, punching, upholstery and final assembly.
• Develop daily and weekly machine-loading schedules based on capacity, manpower, sequence and delivery priorities.
• Calculate production capacity, cycle time, manpower requirements and output per work centre.
• Identify bottlenecks, material shortages, overloaded machines, and schedule conflicts before disruptions.
• Coordinate with Technical, Procurement, Stores, Production, Quality, Projects and Logistics teams.
• Monitor actual output vs planned and issue daily variance reports with recovery actions.
• Re-sequence production due to revisions, delays, shortages, urgent deliveries or machine breakdowns.
• Maintain visibility of WIP, planned completion dates and dispatch readiness.
• Ensure optimum utilisation of machinery, labour, materials and subcontracting resources.
• Establish KPIs covering productivity, machine utilisation, schedule adherence, rejection, rework and on-time completion.
• Participate in daily production meetings and provide accurate order status.

We are looking for an experienced Production Planning Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in joinery, bespoke/loose furniture, upholstery, and related metal fabrication. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of factory operations, production processes, machinery, manpower, material flow, and project delivery requirements.

The candidate will be responsible for converting confirmed orders, approved shop drawings, BOQs, material availability, and project delivery deadlines into a practical, detailed, machine-to-machine and department-wise production plan. They must be able to understand the actual factory workflow, identify what needs to be produced next, allocate work according to available capacity, and proactively identify bottlenecks or delays that could affect delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare master production plans based on confirmed orders, approved drawings, material availability, site priorities, and contractual delivery dates.
• Break down each order into detailed production stages, including:
  • Panel and solid‑wood cutting
  • CNC machining and edge banding
  • Veneering, pressing, sanding, and polishing
  • Carpentry and pre‑assembly
  • Upholstery, foaming, cutting, and stitching
  • Metal cutting, bending, welding, grinding, and powder coating
  • Final assembly, quality inspection, packing, and dispatch
• Develop daily and weekly machine‑loading schedules, allocating jobs based on machine capacity, manpower, production sequence, and delivery priorities.
• Calculate production capacity, cycle time, manpower requirements, and expected output for each work centre.
• Identify bottlenecks, material shortages, overloaded machines, and schedule conflicts before they disrupt production.
• Coordinate closely with Technical, Procurement, Stores, Production, Quality, Projects and Logistics teams.
• Monitor actual output against planned output and issue daily variance reports with recovery actions.
• Re‑sequence production whenever there are drawing revisions, delayed approvals, material shortages, urgent deliveries or machine breakdowns.

Requirements
