The Production Optimization Specialist provides expert guidance to subsurface, surface, and asset teams on well and field performance improvement. The position supports the development of integrated production strategies that connect reservoir behavior, well performance, artificial lift systems, completion design, stimulation activities, and surface constraints. The role helps maximize asset value by identifying production challenges, evaluating new technologies, improving technical workflows, and ensuring that optimization activities comply with ADNOC Offshore standards. It also strengthens knowledge sharing, technical assurance, and capability development across the petroleum engineering community.

Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Technical Center strategy in line with organizational objectives, technical priorities, and asset requirements.
• Identify production optimization challenges affecting wells, fields, reservoirs, artificial lift systems, completions, and surface facilities.
• Evaluate new technologies, engineering tools, analytical methods, software applications, and workflows for their suitability in resolving production performance issues.
• Provide specialist advice to asset teams on production optimization studies, well performance analysis, field development support, and operational troubleshooting.
• Promote integration between petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, drilling, completion, stimulation, well testing, workover, and surface engineering disciplines.
• Establish effective links between well models and surface network models to improve production forecasting and operational decision‑making.
• Design and implement production optimization frameworks that combine technical processes, engineering expertise, data analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Review and assure production optimization activities to confirm compliance with ADNOC Offshore requirements, approved standards, HSE expectations, and cost objectives.
• Develop specialist production optimization programs that strengthen technical capability across offshore assets.
• Promote industry best practices in well performance, production surveillance, artificial lift, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and field optimization.
• Guide the development of production optimization performance frameworks and relevant key performance indicators.
• Review optimization results, identify performance gaps, and establish feedback loops that support continuous improvement.
• Develop standard practices, engineering guidelines, technical procedures, and assurance requirements for production optimization activities.
• Capture lessons learned, successful methodologies, technical case studies, and proven practices from asset operations.
• Share production optimization knowledge across teams through workshops, technical forums, peer reviews, training sessions, and specialist communities.
• Coordinate with ADNOC headquarters, shareholders, operating companies, service providers, and technology partners on production optimization initiatives.
• Provide technical mentoring to production optimization engineers, petroleum engineers, and fresh graduates.
• Develop and deliver in‑house training courses covering production optimization methods, tools, technologies, and engineering practices.
• Plan and coordinate assigned technical activities to ensure delivery against departmental objectives and approved work programs.
• Contribute to budget preparation, cost monitoring, work planning, and investigation of significant expenditure variances.
• Design and implement improved tools and methods that increase the quality, speed, and reliability of production optimization processes.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• 9-10 years of experience in petroleum production optimization or closely related engineering activities.
• At least 5 years of experience in a specialist production optimization role.
• Strong technical background in subsurface production optimization at well and field levels.
• Extensive knowledge of petroleum engineering, including drilling, completion, stimulation, well testing, workover, and rigless activities.
• Advanced understanding of artificial lift systems, particularly gas lift and electrical submersible pumps.
• Proven experience in well performance analysis, production diagnostics, troubleshooting, surveillance, and optimization.
• Ability to integrate reservoir, well, completion, artificial lift, and surface production models.
• Experience evaluating engineering software, digital tools, new technologies, and production enhancement techniques.
• Strong capability in technical assurance, standard development, performance framework design, and peer review.
