Job summary

Alzan Wooden Industry LLC in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to coordinate joinery and fit-out production, ensuring manufacturing adheres to approved drawings and specifications.

You will plan daily production, monitor schedules and material needs, collaborate with Technical, Estimation, Procurement and Production teams, review shop drawings, and uphold quality, safety, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced wood fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or diploma in mechanical/industrial engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in joinery or woodworking manufacturing, in a production engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes including CNC, veneer/laminates, solid wood, MDF/plywood, and cabinet production.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, cutting lists and production specs.
• Experience with production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow management.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and ERP/MRP production systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities for joinery projects.
• Prepare and monitor production planning, cutting lists, material requirements, and schedules.
• Coordinate with Technical, Estimation, Procurement, and Production teams.
• Review shop drawings, technical drawings, specifications before manufacturing.
• Ensure production aligns with drawings, specs, quality standards and project requirements.
• Monitor progress, manpower, machine capacity, and material availability.
• Identify and resolve production issues with Production Manager and Line Managers.
• Monitor efficiency and productivity of workers and production lines.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure materials availability.
• Monitor material consumption, wastage, and cost optimization.
• Coordinate with relevant departments on priorities, deadlines, changes.
• Ensure coordination between CNC, woodworking, assembly, sanding, polishing, painting, finishing.
• Monitor machine performance and report breakdowns to Maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and manufacturing standards.
• Follow up on production targets, pending jobs, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain production records, reports, and documentation.
• Maintain safe working environment and compliance with safety procedures.
• Support continuous improvement to boost productivity and quality.

• Review shop drawings, technical drawings, specifications, and production requirements before manufacturing.
• Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Monitor production progress, manpower utilization, machine capacity, and material availability.
• Identify and resolve production issues and coordinate with the Production Manager and Line Managers when required.
• Monitor the efficiency and productivity of workers and production lines.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure required materials are available for production.

• Ensure proper coordination between CNC, woodworking, assembly, sanding, polishing, painting, and finishing processes.
• Monitor machine and equipment performance and immediately report breakdowns or technical issues to the Maintenance Department.
• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and manufacturing standards throughout the production process.
• Conduct regular follow-up on production targets, pending jobs, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain proper production records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with company safety procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Wood Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in joinery or woodworking manufacturing, preferably in a Production Engineer or similar role.

15. Ability to manage multiple production requirements and meet strict project deadlines.
16. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced joinery manufacturing environment.
17. Experience in high-end joinery, luxury interiors, furniture, and fit-out production.
18. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
19. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
20. Experience working with project-based production and customized joinery.
21. Strong knowledge of production costing, material optimization, productivity improvement, and waste reduction.

Preferred Experience

Experience in wooden doors, wardrobes, kitchens, cabinets, furniture, HPL works, lockers, wall paneling, and other custom joinery/fit-out works will be an advantage.
