Huda Beauty is seeking a Product Development Manager - Fragrance to drive end-to-end fragrance development. You will translate trends into fragrance concepts, evaluate scents, and build briefs for suppliers while collaborating with packaging and design teams.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years in fragrance development within the beauty sector, strong project management and communication skills, and willingness to travel for supplier meetings and testing.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of experience within the beauty industry in fragrance development.
• Strong sense of scent and texture for fragrance concepts.
• Experience working with packaging and design teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Summary:

We are looking for a driven, passionate superstar to join Huda Beauty as our Product Development Manager - Fragrance. Reporting to the Senior Director, Product Development and working in tandem with the Founder, this role within the pivotal Product Development department will be focused on the development of products within the Fragrance category. Product research, presentations, product testing, scent evaluation & project management will play a big part of the day-to-day duties, as well as general team support and admin. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the world of beauty and fragrance, with a strong feel for scent and texture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand key trends and translate them into strong beauty concepts.
• Track new ingredients, claims & stay up to date of the competitive environment to support new product ideas.
• Help fuel PD calendar by proposing innovative product concepts with a focus on fragrances & ancillaries.
• Have a feel & excitement for textures & experiences.
• Evaluate new scents, technologies and textures sent by suppliers to create products that compliment and strengthen our fragrance universe.
• Create strong & detailed product briefs to be sent to suppliers including innovative ingredients & target claims.
• Conduct in-house, internal evaluation of submissions & present results and findings to team.
• Communicate scent & texture direction changes to suppliers through daily follow up emails or calls. Re-direct submissions until desired attributes and performance is achieved.
• Build strong supplier relationships.
• Work cross-functionally and internationally to drive ideas from conception to execution, partnering with the PD operations, Product & Brand Marketing teams.
• Manage of end-to-end New Product Development process from inception to launch for multiple projects at once mitigating risk at each stage through clear communication and action plan alignment.
• Work closely with NPD team to support management of end-to-end NPD process from inception to launch for multiple projects at once, with CPA understanding & problem-solving skills, to ensure all products are launched on time.
• Ability to story tell, create detailed briefs, and collaborate creatively with packaging & design teams to create best-in-class packaging and designs with both a consumer and industry expert lens.
• Work closely with regulatory & Marketing teams to propose and establish claims to be tested.
• Provide all artwork information (INCI, Claim results…) and their translations for primary and secondary packaging to Design Lead for artwork briefing in time for artwork due dates.
• With support of the Senior Director of PD & wider team, attendance in weekly meetings with Founder for product testing, alignment & approval.
• Approval of lab standards with dispatch standards to relevant parties.
• Travel required to meet suppliers, onsite formula approvals & trend research.

• Passion for and knowledge of the beauty & Fragrance industries – brands, products, bloggers, influencers & Fragheads.
• Skills using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• 4 to 6 years of experience within the beauty industry in fragrance development.
• Bath & Body development experience would be an extra benefit but is not a must.
