Job summary

Rowad Modern Engineering in the UAE is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveying lead to manage cost control, budgeting, contract administration, variations and commercial management across construction projects.

You will review contracts, prequalify UAE-based vendors, align procurement strategies with project requirements, timelines and budgets, resolve procurement issues with suppliers, and present monthly and quarterly procurement reports to senior management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in procurement or quantity surveying.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
• Proven ability to review contracts and manage procurement reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and contract comparisons to validate procurement decisions and recommendations.
• Identify UAE-based vendors and prequalify suppliers for new projects.
• Align procurement strategies with timelines, budgets and UAE market conditions.
• Resolve procurement issues with vendors to ensure project progress.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly procurement reports for management.
• Act as procurement advisor to the Project Management team supporting UAE projects.

Role Summary

To manage the Quantity Surveying function, ensuring effective cost control, budgeting, contract administration, variations, and commercial management across construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Review contracts and contract comparisons to validate procurement decisions and provide appropriate recommendations to management.
• Proactively identify and prequalify relevant UAE-based vendors and suppliers for new projects, ensuring the selection of the most suitable and competitive options.
• Discuss and align project procurement strategies with management, considering project requirements, timelines, budgets, and UAE market conditions.
• Resolve technical and project-related issues with vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth procurement activities and uninterrupted project progress.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly procurement reports, highlighting procurement status, vendor performance, risks, challenges, and recommendations to management.
• Act as a trusted procurement advisor to the Project Management team, proactively and reactively addressing procurement-related challenges and supporting the successful delivery of UAE projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Architecture Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
