Job summary

HUMAN-AI-Z Nexus Technology is seeking a Procurement Officer/Engineer to lead material sourcing, supplier pre-qualification, and PO management for our UAE projects.

You will negotiate with vendors, optimize costs, monitor delivery timelines, and ensure alignment with budgets and specifications while coordinating with site operations and accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management or procurement.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement within UAE construction industry.
• Proven experience in material sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Supplier management: pre-approve and pre-qualify suppliers and subcontractors.
• Source and evaluate new suppliers for materials not in current base.
• Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply and material availability.
• Send material inquiries to vendors based on project requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery timelines with suppliers.
• Prepare comparison sheets for price, delivery, brand quality, payment terms and specs.
• Select suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness and reliability.
• Create, issue and track purchase orders.
• Obtain approvals from project and technical managers for POs.

Job description

The Procurement Officer / Engineer is responsible for the acquisition of materials and services essential for project success. This role involves supplier pre-qualification, vendor negotiation, purchase order management, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in alignment with project requirements and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Management: Request pre-approval and pre-qualifications of suppliers and subcontractors for consultant approval.
• Supplier Management: Source and evaluate new suppliers for materials not available within the existing supplier base.
• Supplier Management: Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply and material availability.
• Procurement Process: Send material inquiries to vendors based on project requirements.
• Procurement Process: Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers.
• Procurement Process: Prepare a comparison sheet to compare price, delivery timelines, brand quality, payment terms, and specifications.
• Procurement Process: Select the most suitable suppliers based on factors such as quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• Purchase Order Management: Create, issue, and track purchase orders.

• Quality and Compliance: Control material costs with project budgets and bill of quantities, ensuring all procurement activities align with financial budgets and project specifications.
• Quality and Compliance: Work closely with the accounting and site operations departments to ensure a smooth procurement process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or procurement.
