Job summary

ALEC FITOUT in the UAE seeks a Junior Procurement Engineer to support sourcing, purchasing, and on-time delivery of interior fit-out materials for high-profile projects. You will help prepare RFQs, obtain supplier quotations, and assist in commercial comparisons while coordinating with design, estimation, and project teams.

This role offers a fast-paced environment, exposure to end-to-end procurement processes, and opportunities to identify cost-saving options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in interior fit-out or related sectors.
• Basic understanding of fit-out materials and interior construction packages.
• Familiarity with supplier coordination and quotation processes.
• Ability to read drawings, BOQs, and material specifications.
• ERP or procurement software experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced procurement environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the procurement process for interior fit-out projects from material requisition to delivery.
• Support sourcing of fit-out materials including joinery, loose furniture, doors, ironmongery, glass, gypsum works, ceiling systems, flooring, wall finishes, lighting fixtures, sanitary ware, and decorative items.
• Float RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors and follow up to ensure timely quotation submissions.
• Assist in preparing commercial bid comparisons and evaluation summaries; support negotiations on pricing and terms.
• Coordinate with Design, Estimation, and Project Teams to understand material requirements.
• Track material submittals, approvals, and delivery schedules.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve basic procurement issues.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, logs, and documentation.
• Assist in identifying alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and project requirements.

Your Role

• Coordinate with Design, Estimation, and Project Teams to understand material requirements and specifications

• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve basic procurement issues
• Maintain accurate procurement records, logs, and documentation
• Assist in identifying alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and project requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in Interior Fit-Out, Joinery, Hospitality, Luxury Residential, or Commercial Interior Projects
• Basic understanding of fit-out materials, finishes, and interior construction packages
• Familiarity with supplier coordination and quotation processes
• Ability to read drawings, BOQs, and material specifications (preferred)
• Experience with ERP systems or procurement software is an advantage
• Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced procurement environment
