Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced procurement professional in the UAE to manage end-to-end procurement for power transmission and distribution projects. The role requires handling BOQ reviews, supplier sourcing, RFQs, and order placement across electrical items.

The candidate will coordinate with Engineering, Planning, QS, Commercial, Finance and Stores, driving cost savings and ensuring on-time delivery. A degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 12–16 years UAE experience are

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering / Procurement / Supply Chain or relevant field.
• Strong UAE experience in power transmission/distribution projects.
• Experience in reviewing BOQ, drawings, specifications, project scope and procurement requirements.
• Ability to prepare procurement plans based on schedules and material requirements.
• Experience in sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and commercial terms.
• Knowledge of RFQs, quotations, comparison statements and supplier selection.
• Experience in reviewing technical and commercial offers with Engineering and Project teams.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing Purchase Orders, subcontract agreements and procurement documents.
• Monitoring material production, inspections, delivery schedules and site requirements.
• Coordinating with Project, Engineering, Planning, QS, Commercial, Finance and Stores teams.
• Maintaining supplier/vendor database and evaluating supplier performance.
• Identifying cost saving and better commercial terms.

Responsibilities

• Manage complete procurement activities for power transmission and distribution projects.
• Review BOQ, drawings, specifications, project scope, and procurement requirements.
• Prepare procurement plans based on project schedules and material requirements.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for HT/LT cables, transformers, RMUs, switchgears, panels, poles, towers and other electrical items.
• Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, prepare comparison statements, and negotiate prices and commercial terms.
• Review technical and commercial offers in coordination with Engineering and Project teams.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and review Purchase Orders, subcontract agreements, and procurement documents.
• Monitor material production, inspections, delivery schedules, and site requirements.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Planning, QS, Commercial, Finance and Stores teams.
• Maintain approved supplier/vendor database and evaluate supplier performance.
• Control procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost saving and better terms.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, specifications, and payments.
• Maintain procurement records, reports, commitments, and pending order status.
