Job summary

ALBADDAD Group in Dubai, UAE is seeking a Procurement Engineer – MEP to oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services for MEP projects. You will source suppliers, evaluate quotes, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and high quality.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of procurement experience in the MEP construction sector, a relevant bachelor's degree, and strong negotiation, vendor-management and project coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of procurement experience in the MEP sector.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process for MEP projects, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotes, and negotiating contracts for MEP materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with potential suppliers and subcontractors; maintain approved vendor database and monitor performance.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve favorable agreements and ensure compliance with policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor procurement budgets, prepare cost estimates, analyze market trends, and implement strategies to achieve cost savings.
  • Place orders for MEP materials and services, track order status, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure procured materials meet required quality standards and address any issues related to quality, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain records of procurement activities and present regular reports on procurement performance and project status.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align procurement with project requirements and schedules.

The Procurement Engineer – MEP will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for MEP projects. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement process for MEP projects, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotes, and negotiating contracts for MEP materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with potential suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain a database of approved vendors and assess their performance regularly.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve favorable agreements. Ensure all contracts are in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions. Prepare cost estimates, analyze market trends, and implement strategies to achieve cost savings.
  • Place orders for MEP materials and services in accordance with project requirements and timelines. Track the status of orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure that procured MEP materials and equipment meet required quality standards and specifications. Address any issues related to product quality, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence. Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance and project status.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and ensure procurement aligns with project requirements and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Qualification & Skills Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the MEP sector of the construction or engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, procurement processes, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
