Job summary

Bilfinger Middle East is seeking an experienced HSE Consultant to lead qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including QRA studies, consequence and frequency modelling tools, and Fire Protection system design in the UAE.

You will run HAZID/ENVID/OHID and SIMOPS workshops, interface with clients and project teams, prepare proposals, and ensure compliance with ADNOC/QatarEnergy standards, NFPA, API and other international codes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree, or equivalent in relevant experience (Preferably Chemical, Petrochemical, Mechanical Engineering).
• Familiarity with ADNOC/QatarEnergy Standards and NFPA standards.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil and gas sector.
• Proven ability to work across organizations with communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Proficient typing skills (90 words per minute).
• Excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in deadline-conscious, results-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Experience in QRA studies including consequence and frequency modelling.
• Undertaking/Reviewing Fire Risk Assessments and flare radiation/vent dispersion.
• Execute projects related to flare radiation and fire protection systems.
• Interpret PFDs, P&IDs and HSE documents required for workshops.
• Scribe for HAZID/ENVID/OHID, SIMOPS, SIL and ALARP workshops.
• Interface with clients on process safety design and with project management teams.

Job description

• Experience in Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) studies, including consequence and frequency modelling tools and software (PHAST, SAFETI, Flaresim etc).
• Undertaking Consequence modelling, Fire Risk Assessments, Flare radiation and vent dispersion and fire protection system / detection system design.
• Execute the projects related to Flare radiation and vent dispersion and active/passive fire protection system.
• Strong understanding of key technical documents such as PFDs, P&IDs and shall be able to interpret HSE documents required for HSE workshops.
• Scribing for HAZID/ENVID/OHID, SIMOPS, PHSER, SIL, ALARP workshops.
• Familiarization with software tools such as PHA-Pro, BowTieXP, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other relevant applications used in HSE workshops.
• Manage the project along with Junior HSE consultants
• Undertaking/reviewing the HSEIA studies including Bow tie, EERA, ESSA, COMAH studies, Safety case generation and ALARP demonstrations.
• Ensure the correct application of project procedures, engineering specifications and international codes and standards (ADNOC AGES, NFPA, API, OGP, etc.)
• Preparing proposals under direction of DM.
• Interface with Client on technical issues on process safety design.
• Interface with Project management team and client facing skills.

Basic Qualifications for HSE Consultant:

• Engineering degree, or equivalent in relevant experience (Preferably Chemical, Petrochemical, Mechanical Engineering)
• Familiarity with ADNOC/QatarEnergy Standards, international HSE codes and NFPA standards.
• Previous HSE Consultancy experience in Middle East (especially UAE, Qatar, Muscat).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience for Oil and gas sector.
• Proven ability to work across organizations with effective communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Proficient in typing skills with 90 words per minute
• Excellent presentation and written / oral communication skills
