Job summary

Wood in Sharjah, UAE, seeks UAE National Process Engineers across graduate to mid-senior levels to join its Engineering and Projects team. The role spans FEED, detailed design, and operations support, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and drive process optimization.

Candidates should hold a chemical engineering degree and have exposure to PFDs/P&IDs, process calculations, HAZOP/HAZID, and cross-disciplinary teamwork. Fresh grads up to 10 years’ experience welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
• Internship or project experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or EPC is advantageous.
• 0-3 years: develop process deliverables and support PFDs/P&IDs and calculations.
• 4-10 years: FEED and Detailed Engineering deliverables, process design calculations, and HAZOP/HAZID/SIL participation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing process engineering deliverables for oil and gas projects.
• Support the preparation and review of PFDs, P&IDs, and process calculations.
• Perform basic process simulations and engineering calculations under supervision.
• Assist in preparing equipment datasheets and process design documentation.
• Participate in HAZOP, design review, and risk assessment workshops.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Operations teams.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, start-up, and operations.

Responsibilities:

For Graduate and Junior Engineers (0-3 Years)

• Assist in the development of process engineering deliverables for oil and gas projects.
• Support the preparation and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and process calculations.
• Perform basic process simulations and engineering calculations under supervision.
• Assist in preparing equipment datasheets and process design documentation.
• Participate in HAZOP, design review, and risk assessment workshops.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Operations teams.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities.
• Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE and quality requirements.

For Mid-Level and Senior Engineers (4-10 Years)

• Develop and review process engineering deliverables for FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
• Perform process design calculations including material and energy balances.
• Prepare and review: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Equipment Datasheets, Process Design Basis, Utility Consumption Calculations, Relief and Flare System Calculations, Cause & Effect Matrices
• Conduct process simulation studies using industry-standard software.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and Design Review workshops.
• Support sizing and selection of process equipment, including vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and control valves.
• Interface with clients, licensors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational phases.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, energy efficiency, and plant performance improvements.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.

Qualifications:

Fresh Graduates (0-3 Years)

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
• Internship or project experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or EPC industries is an advantage.

Experienced Candidates (4-10 Years)

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-10 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, Offshore, Energy, or EPC projects.
• Experience in FEED, Detailed Design, Brownfield, Greenfield, EPC is preferred.
