Sigma Earth is seeking a senior water resources engineer to lead planning, modelling, and advisory services across diverse projects in the UAE and beyond. You will develop integrated water supply-demand strategies, evaluate infrastructure concepts, and support digital data platforms for decision making.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil/Environmental/Water Engineering, Chartered status, and extensive experience with water modelling tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Engineering.
  • Chartered status or equivalent accreditation.
  • Extensive experience in water resources planning and integrated water management.
  • Proven experience with water resource and hydraulic models (GoldSim, dynamic modelling).
  • Strong planning, risk assessment, and master plan delivery for large projects.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and capacity building.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

Job description

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and support water resource planning, design development, and technical advisory services across a wide range of projects and clients.
  • Develop integrated strategies for water supply and demand management, including long-term planning, risk assessments, and infrastructure development frameworks.
  • Utilize and interpret hydraulic modelling tools to support planning decisions, system design, and scenario evaluation.
  • Contribute to conceptual design work, feasibility studies, and preparation of technical specifications for water infrastructure systems.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives, including data platforms and analytics solutions, to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Coordinate and engage with stakeholders, government authorities, utility operators, and multidisciplinary consultants to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Candidate Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (e.g., CIWEM, ICE, APM) or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Extensive experience in water resources planning, integrated water management, or related fields, preferably across both GCC and international projects.
  • Proven experience in developing and applying water resource and hydraulic models such as GoldSim or dynamic hydraulic modelling tools.
  • Strong track record in strategic planning, risk assessment, and delivering master plans or feasibility studies for large-scale water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, institutional strengthening, and capacity building initiatives.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including budgeting, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural team environments.
Desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic.
  • Postgraduate qualification in water resources or a related field.
  • Experience working with digital platforms for water data management and integration.
  • Familiarity with UAE/GCC water sector or similar arid-region environments.
  • Experience in public-private partnerships, non-revenue water reduction, and climate resilience projects.
  • Publication record or thought leadership in water resources, systems thinking, or integrated water planning.
