Job summary

SSH is seeking an experienced Lead Wet Utilities Engineer to spearhead planning, design, and delivery of wet utilities across the UAE and GCC. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure technical excellence, and secure authority approvals throughout all project phases.

You will lead potable water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation/TSE, firefighting networks, pumping stations, and storage facility designs, while coordinating with clients and authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water, Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in wet utilities design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in water supply, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation/TSE, firefighting networks, pumping stations, and storage facilities.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/GCC authority standards, utility regulations, and infrastructure design best practices.
• Experience managing authority approvals, NOCs, and stakeholder coordination.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modelling, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM coordination, and utility design workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of wet utilities systems from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Manage design of potable water, sewerage, stormwater drainage, TSE/irrigation, firefighting networks, pumping stations, storage facilities, and utility diversions.
• Review design calculations, hydraulic models, drawings, specifications, reports, and authority submission packages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including roads, structures, landscape, grading, BIM, and utility disciplines.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, utility providers, and stakeholders to secure approvals and resolve technical issues.
• Lead technical reviews, quality assurance processes, and design risk management activities.
• Mentor and guide engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, proposal development, and value engineering initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience.
• Professional registration or chartered status (PE, CEng, MICE, MCIWEM, or equivalent).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure developments.
