Job summary

ObjectStyle is seeking a senior data platform architect to define and govern the data infrastructure strategy in a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment.

You will lead migrations, design resilient HA/DR, and implement secure, scalable data solutions while mentoring teams and aligning technical choices with business and compliance needs. This role requires deep SQL, MySQL expertise, and experience with AWS data services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering, DBA, or infrastructure roles.
• 2+ years in a lead or architect capacity.
• Deep MySQL expertise including Performance Schema, InnoDB internals, replication.
• Experience with hybrid cloud and on-prem Linux environments.
• Experience working in SOC environments.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Bash/PowerShell.
• Experience with AWS services: RDS, Aurora, S3, EC2, VPC, IAM, DMS, Glue.

• Define the data platform roadmap balancing on-prem legacy with cloud-native AWS.
• Design HA/DR architectures including replication, failover, and cross-region redundancy.
• Lead major migrations, upgrades, and platform consolidations.
• Implement backup/restore strategies and define SLOs/SLIs.
• Enforce least-privilege access, PII protection, and SOC 2 controls.
• Automate provisioning using Terraform/CloudFormation and database change management via CI/CD.
• Mentor teams and translate business/compliance needs into scalable data solutions.
