Job summary

Volantes Recruitment is seeking a Principal BMS & High Voltage Systems Engineer for a confidential advanced eVTOL programme in Dubai. The role focuses on battery management, HV architecture, protection and safety-critical control systems.

Candidates should bring 10+ years in BMS/hv safety-critical domains, hands-on BMS ownership, SOC/SOH estimation, and HIL testing with supplier management experience. Aerospace/regulatory experience is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

This is a hands-on technical position focused on battery management, high-voltage architecture, protection and safety-critical control systems.

Key experience required:

• 10+ years' BMS, power electronics control or safety-critical embedded systems experience
• Hands-on ownership of BMS architecture
• State-of-charge (SOC) & state-of-health (SOH) estimation
• Cell balancing, fault detection & isolation
• Safe-state definition & contactor control
• High-voltage protection architecture
• Fusing & protection coordination
• Arc-fault / ground-fault detection & isolation monitoring
• Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) & fault-injection testing
• Safety-critical requirements & development assurance
• Technical management of BMS/control system suppliers

Experience within aerospace, electric/hybrid-electric platforms or other highly regulated safety-critical environments would be highly advantageous.
