Job summary

EDGE EDGE is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design, analysis, and optimization of advanced missiles. You will oversee fuselage, wings, and control surfaces, integrating structural and aerodynamic concerns to deliver high-performance aerospace systems.

You will apply deep knowledge of high-speed aerodynamics, heat transfer, and missile conceptual design, guiding trade-off studies and validation of jet propulsion and store separation simulations.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years in UAS industry including 5+ years in a senior/team lead role.
• Knowledge of guided weapons and missile technology is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design, performance evaluation, and optimization of missiles, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
• Incorporates structural and aerodynamic considerations into the design process for balanced aerospace structures.
• Applies deep understanding of applied aerodynamics and flight dynamics to guide design projects.
• Uses control theory to ensure stability and optimize missile performance.
• Demonstrates expertise in high-speed aerodynamics and heat transfer (transonic and supersonic).
• Guides missile conceptual design through requirements formulation, concept generation, and trade studies.
• Understands jet propulsion, including solid rocket motors and turbines, and store separation simulations.
• Contributes mathematically to design computations and interpretation of simulation results.
• Communicates complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Supports the chief engineer with technical contributions and mentoring of engineers.
