Job summary

EDGE Group, a UAE-based advanced technology leader, seeks an experienced professional for Advanced Concepts to drive missile design, analysis, and optimization. The role covers aerodynamics, structures, flight dynamics, propulsion, and stability, leading conceptual studies and performance assessments.

Requirements include a Master/PhD in Aerospace Engineering, 12+ years in UAS with 5+ years in senior roles, and proven knowledge of guided weapons.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Aerospace Engineering
• Minimum 12 years in UAS industry including 5+ years in a senior/team lead role
• Knowledge of guided weapons and missile technology is mandatory

Responsibilities

• Leads the design, performance evaluation, and optimization of missiles, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces
• Incorporates structural and aerodynamic considerations into the design process for aerospace structures
• Applies deep understanding of applied aerodynamics and flight dynamics to guide design projects
• Utilizes control theory to ensure stability and optimize missile performance
• Deep knowledge of high-speed aerodynamics and heat transfer (transonic/supersonic)
• Understands missile conceptual design process—requirements, concepts, trade-offs, MDO
• Understands jet propulsion (solid rockets, turbines)
• Understands store separation—simulation and validation
• Applies strong mathematical skills to design computations and simulations
• Communicates complex technical information clearly to technical/non-technical staff
• Supports chief engineer with technical contributions
• Mentoring Engineer, Engineer I, Engineer II
