Job summary

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is inviting applications for a highly qualified faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Power & Renewable Energy Engineering within SEAST. The candidate will teach, conduct research, and contribute to curriculum development for the newly launched Power & Renewable Energy Engineering programme.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy or related field.
• Strong record of teaching, research and scholarly publications in power and renewable energy engineering.
• Expertise in power systems, renewable energy technologies, power electronics or energy storage.
• Ability to develop and deliver practice-based engineering education with laboratory components.
• Industry collaboration, applied research or consultancy experience is desirable.
• Relevant professional certifications in electrical power engineering or renewable energy are assets.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert in Power & Renewable Energy Engineering and support the Programme Chair in curriculum alignment and programme development.
• Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching with up-to-date materials, assessment practices, and timely grading.
• Supervise undergraduate projects, student internships, and postgraduate research; provide academic advising.
• Contribute to curriculum design, course development, programme assessment, and accreditation requirements.
• Lead and support the development of specialised laboratories for power systems, power electronics, and renewable energy; manage equipment selection and safety standards.
• Conduct original research and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals; pursue collaborations with academia and industry.
• Establish relationships with utilities, energy companies, renewable developers, and professional bodies for industry engagement and experiential learning.
• Participate in governance, accreditation activities, faculty meetings, and institutional committees; contribute to professional development.
• Support student engagement and success through mentoring and activities that foster learning and career growth.
• Contribute to community outreach, sustainability initiatives, conferences, and ongoing innovation at CUD.
