The Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Khalifa University of Science and Technology seeks an accomplished scholar to build a vibrant, internationally competitive research program in renewable and sustainable energy and energy conversion. The successful candidate will advance the University’s strategic research priorities and support the UAE’s sustainable development and net-zero ambitions through impactful research, teaching, and service.

About the Role:

This is a full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in Mechanical Engineering, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Candidates with cross-disciplinary expertise in dynamics and control as applied to energy systems are especially encouraged to apply.

• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preferred expertise

• Deep expertise in renewable and sustainable energy or energy conversion, including areas such as solar, wind, or hybrid energy systems; fuel cells, batteries, or thermal management; and sustainable power generation and storage.
• Research integrating dynamics, control, or optimization into energy systems, such as renewable grids or microgrids, energy-conversion device dynamics, or AI-enabled control for sustainable infrastructure.
