Job summary

Staff Connect Information Technology Consultants seeks a Microsoft Power BI Engineer to design, build and maintain our BI layer. You will own semantic models, author DAX and Power Query, and craft executive dashboards across trading, brokerage, asset management, and finance functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Microsoft certifications PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst or Fabric Azure Data certifications are a strong advantage.
• Financial services or regulated-industry exposure preferred.
• Experience: 4 years of hands-on experience building Power BI solutions with deep expertise in DAX and Power Query.
• Strong data-modelling background and advanced SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Proven track record of delivering executive-level dashboards and self-service analytics.
• Experience administering the Power BI Service, gateways, dataset refreshes and row-level security.
• Prior experience in regulated financial services or otherwise data-sensitive environments strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• BI Solution Design: Design and maintain semantic data models and relationships optimized for Power BI.
• Report Dashboard Development: Create clear, interactive dashboards for executive and operations audiences.
• Requirements gathering: Elicit KPIs and precise metric definitions with stakeholders.
• Data Preparation: Connect to and integrate data from SQL Server, APIs, files and internal systems.
• Performance: Optimise data models and queries for fast report performance.
• Governance: Implement row-level security and manage workspaces, apps and content lifecycle.
• Deployment: Administer Power BI Service gateways, capacities and dataset refreshes.
• Documentation: Maintain data dictionaries and runbooks for long-term maintainability.
